Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Temporary Service Technician I (Temp Service Tech I) in National City, CA
Position Summary
The Temp Service Tech I is an entry-level position responsible for assisting with the installation, operation, maintenance, and removal of temporary services onboard U.S. Naval vessels. Temporary services include, but are not limited to, temporary lighting, ventilation, 110V and 440V power distribution, power mules, transformers, and related equipment. Work is performed under immediate supervision and is non-supervisory in nature.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, operation, and removal of temporary services onboard U.S. Naval vessels and in shipyard environments.
- Set up temporary lighting, ventilation systems, power cables, power panels, transformers, and power mules in accordance with job specifications and safety requirements.
- Route, secure, and protect temporary electrical cables, ventilation ducting, and equipment to prevent hazards and interference with shipboard operations.
- Assist in laying out work using drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions.
- Use hand tools and basic power tools to install, secure, and remove temporary service equipment.
- Assist with testing and verifying temporary power and lighting systems prior to use.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of temporary service equipment and report issues to supervision.
- Support crane operators, riggers, and senior technicians during installation and removal activities as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area onboard vessels and in the shipyard.
- Follow all company policies, shipyard rules, and safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and electrical safety practices.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Entry-level position: prior shipyard or industrial experience is helpful but not required.
- Willingness to learn temporary service systems, tools, and shipboard work practices.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to follow written, oral, and diagram-based instructions.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in industrial shipyard environments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to military and government installations and private shipyards.
Pay Range
The pay range for this is $19.00 to $29.00 per hour. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, education and experience.
