Engineering Interns at MEAU will contribute to a range of technical and project-based initiatives. Our internships offer valuable opportunities to apply academic knowledge in a practical setting, gain exposure to industry practices, and develop core professional competencies under the guidance of experienced engineers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Under minimum supervision, the Electrical Design Engineering Intern will support of value-added Solutions from customer supplied specifications. Work with Engineering management to develop a complete control package design to support Mitsubishi Electric Automation (MEAU) manufacturing and to meet the customers' needs and requirements. Work with Design Engineering team to bring product to production.
Review & verify customer specifications (Schematic & Cable drawings, Electrical Component Lists, etc.).Create, update, modify electrical schematics, and layout drawings to communicate change recommendations to customer.Redesign and modify customer specifications to reduce material and labor cost.Manage multiple projects and communicate with other departments to make sure documentations are released on time to meet delivery schedule.Design cables and spec out components from power calculations.Review, verify and update customer supplied sheet metal drawings.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Rising Junior or Senior, pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering TechnologyAbility to read schematic drawings and translate to point wiringsAbility to operate AutoCAD and/or Solidworks softwareExperience with sheet metal designComputer proficiency - Knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Access)Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with and maintain effective relationships with customers, vendors and team membersTeamwork orientatedAttention to detail

The listed salary range is approximate and reflects the anticipated compensation for this position as determined by salary analysis; both internal and external to MEAU. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, skills and experience. Compensation may also vary due to market factors. MEAU retains the right to adjust compensation based on business needs.
Expected Pay: $20/hr-$25/hr
