The Disability Management Unit provides technical direction and support to departmental staff in complying with California and Hawaii Workers' Compensation (WC) laws, rules, and regulations; the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), California Family Rights Act (CFRA), Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL), Qualifying Exigency Leave (QEL), and Military Caregiver Leave (MCL) laws, rules, and regulations. The unit provides injured or ill workers with information and assistance regarding benefits and return-to-work and works with the State Compensation Insurance Fund (SCIF) and other insurance administrators to coordinate effective management of claims for workers' compensation and other disability benefits.

Department Information The Human Resources Branch (HRB) provides a full range of services to the eight divisions and Executive Office of the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), and the 52 District Agricultural Associations (DAAs). Services include personnel transactions, examinations, labor relations, position allocation, employee discipline, workers' compensation, disability management, and consultation services to management in all Human Resource areas.
Special Requirements A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) and cover letter is required and must be submitted with your Employment Application (STD.678). 1. Describe your experience in providing customer service, including how you have assisted customers, resolved inquiries and contributed positively to the customer experience.

3. Explain your role in reviewing personnel transactions for accuracy and compliance. Describe how you identified errors or trends and the steps you took to address them.
