We are seeking a talented and dynamic Permanent Design Manager for our rapidly growing construction firm. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and manage design aspects of our diverse construction projects. As a Design Manager, you will be part of our core team, working closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure that our designs meet both aesthetic and structural standards. This role is integral to our company's success, and we are looking for someone who can bring innovative design solutions while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
As a Design Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
1. Oversee and manage the design aspects of construction projects from conception to completion.
2. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop design plans that meet client requirements and adhere to industry standards.
3. Review and approve architectural and engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
4. Lead and coordinate design team members to ensure efficient and effective design processes.
5. Manage design changes and alterations throughout the project life cycle.
6. Ensure all designs meet safety and quality standards.
7. Regularly communicate with clients, team members, and stakeholders about design progress and challenges.
8. Conduct site visits to monitor the implementation of design plans and address any issues.
9. Stay updated on the latest design trends, technologies, and regulations in the construction industry.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Design Manager role should have the following qualifications:
1. A bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree will be a plus.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a design management role in the construction industry.
3. Proven experience in managing design processes for large-scale construction projects.
4. Strong knowledge of construction design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
8. Proficiency in project management methodologies and software.
9. A strong understanding of construction laws and regulations.
10. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
