Position OverviewThe Senior Accountant is a key member of the finance team responsible for managing complex accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards, and providing accurate financial reporting. This role often includes leadership responsibilities, mentoring junior staff, and supporting strategic financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights for budgeting and forecasting.
- General Ledger & Reconciliation
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
- Compliance & Audit
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and applicable federal/state regulations.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
- Tax & Regulatory Filings
- Prepare and submit tax returns and related documentation.
- Process Improvement
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard assets.
- Streamline accounting processes and leverage technology for efficiency.
- Leadership
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on finance-related projects.
Qualifications- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
Preferred Attributes- Experience with audit coordination and tax compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
Pay Details: $35.00 to $45.00 per hour
