LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a leading professional services organization is seeking a
detail?oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join its Finance team in
Wilmington, DE. This role provides key support to Finance leadership and plays an essential part in general ledger management, fixed asset accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
This position offers a
hybrid schedule (4 days onsite, 1 day remote) with standard hours of
9:00am - 5:30pm.
Staff Accountant - Hybrid (Wilmington, DE)Full-Time | $30-35/hr | Professional Services IndustryKey Responsibilities- Execute firmwide accounting and financial reporting functions.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements; perform financial analysis, including actual vs. budget variance reports.
- Create and post accurate journal entries for financial transactions for multiple entities; manage the month-end close process.
- Maintain monthly account and bank reconciliations; promptly resolve discrepancies.
- Manage and maintain the fixed asset schedule and ensure the fixed asset subledger reconciles with the general ledger.
- Support annual external audits, including 401K audit, serving as the main point of contact for auditors.
- Maintain strong internal controls over critical processes such as period-end close and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and maintain reconciliations for all trust-related accounts.
- Assist in preparing financial documents, performing technical accounting research, and implementing system enhancements.
- Support the annual budget process, year-end close, and payroll reconciliation.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries from internal staff, clients, and third parties in a timely manner.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 1+ years of relevant accounting experience required.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, finance, budgeting, tax, cost accounting, and internal controls.
- Experience in the legal or professional services industry is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
- Experience with cloud-based accounting software and Microsoft Power BI is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly detail?oriented with strong analytical abilities and excellent time?management.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and occasionally work evenings or weekends as needed.
- Strong technology skills and comfort in a fast?paced, service?oriented environment.
