Position Summary:
The SPS Commerce Technology Team succeeds together by building and advancing the world's largest retail network. We develop reliable, secure, and scalable solutions that power modern retail supply chains. Our engineers are known for tackling complex challenges and finding practical, innovative solutions.
An SPS Commerce internship is more than a summer job. During this 12-week paid experience, you'll work alongside experienced engineers, contribute to real production systems, and be treated as a valued member of Team SPS from day one.
As a Technical Writing Intern, you'll support the hardware and software used by Team SPS members across the globe. You'll create clear, scalable technical documentation for a global audience-translating complex technical concepts into content that's easy to understand and use. You'll apply your technical knowledge, analytical skills, and curiosity to evaluate information, solve problems, and help others better understand technology that powers our business.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain clear technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and instructional content for global SPS systems.
• Document workflows and standard operating procedures to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather accurate technical information.
• Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot hardware and software in line with SPS standards if interested.
• Translate complex product information into user-friendly content for diverse audiences.
• Manage documentation repositories and support centralized storage and ongoing content updates.
Required Qualifications:
• Student pursuing a bachelor's degree in one of the following or a related field:
oManagement Information Systems
oTechnical Writing or Technical Communication
oInformation Technology or Technology Infrastructure
oComputer Science
oCommunications, English, or a related discipline
• Coursework, experience, or demonstrated interest in technical documentation
• Comfortable operating in a modern professional work environment with open workspace
• Familiarity with using interactive communication platforms such as Slack and Zoom
• Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
Preferred Qualifications:
• Students entering their final year of study ("rising seniors")
• Prior SPS Commerce internship experience
• Experience or interest in technical writing, documentation, or content development
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
• Working knowledge of Office 365 and the Microsoft Office Suite
Work Authorization:
Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a permanent, unrestricted basis. The company does not sponsor employment visas for this role, now or in the future.
Location:
This role follows a hybrid work model, with regular in-office presence required at our Minneapolis office.
