Engineering Internship - Summer 2026
Location: Welch Fluorocarbon, a UFP Technologies company | Dover, NH
This internship offers hands-on experience supporting the Engineering department with design, testing, and process improvement initiatives within a regulated and highly technical manufacturing environment.
Program Details
Start Date: Mid to late May 2026
End Date: Mid to late August 2026
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday-Friday
Location: On-site in Dover, NH (no housing or transportation provided; local candidates within 45 minutes preferred)
What You'll Experience
Mentorship: Work closely with a dedicated engineering mentor who will provide guidance, feedback, and support throughout the internship.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and other teams.
Data & Analysis Exposure: Develop skills in data acquisition, analysis, and reporting to support engineering projects.
Professional Communication: Build experience presenting findings, progress, and recommendations to engineering leadership.
Final Presentation: Prepare and deliver a summary of your work, insights gained, and recommendations to the Engineering team.
Internship Opportunities
The Engineering Internship includes project-based work aligned with current business priorities. Interns will support initiatives such as:
Proposed Internship Project:
- Create inspection aids for existing parts
- Develop Keyence inspection programs
- Run Measurement System Analyses (MSAs) as part of a process improvement project
Intern Responsibilities May Include:
- Participating in collaborative product and process design activities
- Contributing to data acquisition and corresponding analysis
- Assisting with protocol and report generation
- Applying engineering knowledge to assist in problem-solving
- Designing and validating measurement aids and programs
- Researching materials and preparing technical documentation
- Supporting the engineering team with ongoing projects and initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited university/college in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related discipline
- Knowledge of CAD software is a plus
- Strong PC skills; proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is required
- Experience with statistical concepts and basic data analysis
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work under supervision while taking initiative
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or authorized to work in the U.S. without future sponsorship
