Under the administrative direction of the Deputy Director, Operations, the Assistant Deputy Director (ADD), Operations provides executive level oversight for the Lottery's facility and fleet programs statewide. The ADD is responsible for directing the Facilities & Fleet Management Branch and the Facilities Development Unit within the Operations Division and serves as the principal policy advisor and consultant to the directorate on a variety of facilities, engineering, and maintenance matters, including the development of new buildings. The incumbent develops, implements, and evaluates policies and procedures to ensure departmental compliance with the legal requirements of the State. This position requires a high level of technical expertise in construction, engineering, and design fields in order to effectively manage Lottery's facility portfolio.
This position is headquartered at the Sacramento Headquarters location and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule. Employees must be able to report to their assigned headquarters office as assigned. Travel expense to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee. Eligibility for telework requires the employee to reside in California per California Government Code Section 14200 which states: "telecommuting means the partial or total substitution of computers or telecommunication technologies, or both, for the commute to work by employees residing in California."

- Experience managing large-scale construction, maintenance, and engineering projects, including oversight of contractor performance and project delivery.
- Experience advising executive level management on facilities and maintenance-related matters.

STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS - ASSISTANT DEPUTY DIRECTOR, OPERATIONS Instructions : The examination process for this position consists of a Standard State Application (form STD 678), Resume, and SOQ evaluation, which will be used to evaluate how your education, training, experience, and skills qualify you for the position. The SOQ serves as documentation of each candidate's ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. SOQs must be no more than three (3) pages in length, and typed using no less than 12-point Arial font. The SOQ must address the following items and in order listed below:
1. Describe your experience managing large construction and/or building maintenance projects. Your response must include specific examples that address the following:
a. Developing detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation as well as working with architects and engineers throughout the project lifecycle;
