In this role, you shape how the organization understands value-designing the frameworks, tools, and insights that inform investments, guide prioritization, and give transparency to the true economics behind FMI's most important initiatives. You'll work at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and financial decision making. Partnering closely with Finance Business Partners and leaders across the enterprise, you bring structure to ambiguity, elevate analytical rigor, and create consistent ways to compare opportunities and measure performance over time.
This role is ideal for someone who loves turning complex questions into clarity. You'll build valuation models and enterprise analytics capabilities that are technically strong, intuitive, scalable, and decision-ready. Although highly collaborative, this position is not responsible for formulating business recommendations or aligning functional stakeholders; rather, it delivers essential analytical support that enhances the strategic contributions of the Finance team to the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:- Valuation Leadership
- Build, enhance, and maintain enterprise valuation frameworks ensuring methodological rigor, consistency, depth and defensibility.
- Lead advanced modeling including DCF, scenario design, sensitivities, Monte Carlo simulation, and risk-adjusted evaluation.
- Design tools and processes to further validate, triangulate, and pressure-test business case assumptions
- Lead valuation development for selected business cases, including enterprise level and corporate development opportunities.
- Enterprise Financial Analytics
- Develop scalable analytics models, dashboards, KPI structures, and cross-initiative performance comparisons.
- Deliver cross-portfolio prioritization tools and analytics.
- Explore further innovation in analytics, forecasting, planning & reporting leveraging new technologies, such as generative artificial intelligence
- Participate in cross-enterprise analytical governance forums.
- Executive Communication & Storytelling
- Translate complex analyses into leadership-ready narratives.
- Produce investment memos, sensitivity packs, scorecards.
- Adapt communication style for senior audiences.
- Financial Governance & Core Processes
- Enforce version control, audit trails, peer reviews, change logs.
- Develop high-complexity modeling to support commercial and portfolio planning cycles.
- Embed standard metrics, assumptions, documentation, modelling conventions in core financial processes such as planning/forecasting & monthly reporting
Qualifications:Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience; or 6 years with a Master's degree, or 3 years with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:- Master of Business Administration
- Master's Degree or higher educational level in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field
- Knowledge of accounting statements and financial reporting
- Demonstrated ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings and work with cross functional leaders
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to be resourceful in finding answers and solutions when information and data is not readily available
- Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Agreement to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive company, employee, and proprietary data and information

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Boston, MA is $125,000 - $150,000 per year. The salary range is commensurate with Foundation Medicine's compensation practice and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for Foundation Medicine's benefits.
