The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking a skilled and motivated Data Migration Lead at the Information Technology (IT) Specialist III level to join our Information Systems Division (ISD). This position will play a critical role in delivering innovative technologies that enhance the digital experience for Californians.
As a technical leader, the Data Migration Lead will be responsible for designing and developing data conversion plans and scripts, as well as overseeing the planning, development, and execution of data conversion activities supporting the DMV's Digital Experience Platform (DxP) modernization effort. This includes defining & designing conversion strategies, analyzing legacy DB2 data, creating mapping rules, and implementing ETL processes to migrate data from mainframe systems to Salesforce. The IT Specialist III will ensure data integrity, meeting the KPIs defined, compliance with security requirements, and timely delivery of project milestones.
The role involves coordinating testing cycles, resolving data-related issues, and collaborating with DMV business and technical teams, CDT, consultants, and other stakeholders. The IT Specialist III will also provide leadership in data quality, security, and risk management while mentoring team members and documenting processes for future reference.
Additionally, the IT Specialist III will contribute to the configuration, analysis, testing, implementation, and administration of key DXP initiatives. The position performs duties related to IT Project Management and Software Engineering, including but not limited to data architecture, software integration, and system engineering.
This Limited Term position may be extended to 24 months and may become Permanent.

Working Conditions Telework is available; however, this position may be required to occasionally report to the designated office location in DMV headquarters at 2415 First Avenue, Sacramento, California, 95818. Telework requires California residency. Travel expenses related to reporting to the designated office is the employee's own responsibility and is not eligible for reimbursement.
