POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer / Communications Specialist to join our team supporting the VA's Digital Transformation Center (DTC). In this role you will write, edit, and distribute technical communications regarding the DTC's low code/no code platforms. As a Communications Specialist, you will serve as a subject matter expert on strategic and technical communications, processes, and standards in an agile environment. You will facilitate meetings and briefings with large audiences that will include senior VA leadership, so you must be comfortable with and skilled at public speaking. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting the VA's mission, learning about new technologies including AI, and who works well in an agile environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborating with stakeholders on platform-related communications which includes writing, editing, approval coordination, and distribution
- Facilitating meetings and presentations to internal and external participants, including large audiences and government clients
- Supporting program events such as PI Planning and drafting executive level communications summarizing those events
- Being the POC for program level communications and working closely with Sprezzatura leadership to ensure the appropriate information is conveyed to the right audience in the best way possible
- Hosting educational workshops regarding communication best practices and contract-specific communication requirements
- Assisting with onboarding new personnel to the contract as well as new system integrators within the DTC space
QUALIFICATIONS
- US Citizen or Permanent resident to be eligible to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in communications, technical writing, public relations, or similar. Experience and related certifications will be considered in lieu of degree
- Minimum of 2 years previous experience supporting government agencies with special consideration given to applicants with VA experience
- Familiarity with agile methodologies
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and be familiar with Slack, Jira, and Confluence
- Graphic design experience a plus but not required
WORKING CONDITIONS
Standard Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM ET - 4:30 PM ET. Must havereliableinternet service that allows for effective telecommuting.
