Job Description
Scappoose Online Academy-OpenED- Special Education Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. Remote position. The teacher will provide special education services to a diverse population of students in a structured classroom setting, focusing on students with needs in self-regulation, executive functioning, and social-emotional functioning. The teacher will instruct students, maintain discipline, and be responsible for student academic achievement.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
Oregon TSPC Licensure in Special Education
Position Responsibilities
Support and consult with the classroom teacher regarding ways to modify instruction and materials for students with learning and/or behavioral disabilities and other handicapping conditions.
Provide specially designed instruction to assist students in the acquisition of skills and knowledge necessary to achieve the goals of the Individual Education Plan (IEP), as well as the State Benchmark Standards.
Ensure that all district, state, and federal guidelines regarding pre-referrals (SST), referrals, testing, recordkeeping, and service delivery for students with disabilities are strictly followed.
Develop a positive working relationship with students, staff, administration, parents, and community.
Maintain professional confidentiality concerning individual students’ data and achievement.
Salary & Benefits
Salary range: $52,168 – $106,048 per year. Salary determined based on experience verification (25-26 salary schedule).
3% of salary stipend per SEA contract.
Contract
190 days + 5 extended contract days.
Other
Veterans must submit DD Form 214 or 215 to establish Veterans preference eligibility.
