Construction & Facilities Manager
Responsible for the overall planning, execution, and management of construction projects, facility operations, and maintenance across ForMotion’s US locations.
Responsibilities
Pre-Construction Planning & Design: manage test fits and layouts, participate in lease negotiations, identify architects, review drawings, lead value engineering.
Budget Management & Approval: develop and manage project and major repair budgets, obtain leadership approval, monitor costs, control expenses.
Contractor Management & Procurement: define qualified contractors, prepare bids, award contracts, negotiate vendor contracts, provide site oversight.
Regulatory Compliance & Permitting: monitor permit process, secure lease-required items, maintain compliance, respond to regulatory findings.
Project Execution & Oversight: develop schedules, monitor progress, address concerns, ensure specifications, budgets, and timelines are met.
Equipment & Logistics Coordination: procure and track equipment and furniture, coordinate internal department schedules, determine lease/purchase needs.
Facility Operations & Maintenance: oversee operation, maintenance of buildings, equipment, grounds; manage materials, renovations, and asset preservation.
Project Completion & Quality Assurance: conduct walkthroughs, manage close-out procedures, organize documentation, handle tenant allowances.
Specialized Services & Vendor Management: hire signage vendors, manage permit acquisition, marketing approval, installation; handle security liaison.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership: work with Real Estate, Operations, other stakeholders; plan organizational structure; hire, train, and develop staff; advise on labor issues.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement: provide reporting to senior leadership; introduce best practices and process improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent education/experience.
Minimum eight years of related experience or training in construction, facilities management, or operations.
Strong critical thinking, analytical, and presentation skills.
Extensive computer knowledge in MS products; proficiency in project management and scheduling tools.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, governmental regulations, and business documents.
Willingness to travel up to 25%.
