Within our Electronic Security Solutions (ESS) team, we go beyond traditional security, engineering integrated electronic security systems including IP-based access control, video surveillance and intrusion detection systems that safeguard people, assets and operations.
As a Senior Project Manager - Electronic Security, you will lead the successful delivery of large-scale, complex electronic security projects across the full lifecycle, from initiation through closeout. You are accountable for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction.
Working across access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and integrated security systems, you will align cross-functional teams, drive decision-making, and ensure consistent execution against project objectives. You will act as the primary client interface, building strong relationships and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders and leadership.
NOTE - this job is virtual on a day-to-day basis, but requires travel to project sites within the US-Cedar Rapids IA Region; as such, candidate is required to reside in or be willing to relocate to Cedar Rapids. Relocation assistance is available.
What You'll Do:
- Lead delivery of electronic security systems, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
- Manage and coordinate cross-functional teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee implementation of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and integrated security systems.
- Develop and manage project schedules, baselines, and forecasts, identifying risks and communicating deviations.
- Monitor project financials, including budgets, costs, and margins, implementing corrective actions to maintain profitability.
- Identify and mitigate construction and delivery risks, ensuring alignment with sequencing and project timelines.
- Participate in design reviews and coordinate field verification to ensure accurate documentation and site readiness.
- Partner with site supervisors and contractors to drive execution, system programming, commissioning, and final handover.
- Manage stakeholder communication, proactively addressing client concerns and maintaining strong relationships.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, punch list resolution, client training, and transition to service teams.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that may be met by an employee. The role may involve exposure to construction site environments, including hospital and medical facilities. Employees are responsible for adhering to all safety requirements and PPE standards.
The position requires regular movement across job sites, with approximately 40% of time spent on feet. Occasional climbing, use of stairs, and lifting or moving materials up to 20 pounds may be required. The role also involves use of standard office equipment and systems when not onsite.
Travel:
Frequent travel by car and occasional air travel is required. Local travel (typically within a 2-hour radius) represents the majority of work (70-90%), with limited remote travel as needed. A valid driver's license in state of residence is required.

Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Project Management experience in commercial construction trades and settings or experience with Electronic Security Systems (ESS).
- Proven ability to follow repeatable processes and participate in Constant Process Improvement (CPI) to iterate and improve workflows and best practices.
- Experienced in delivering waterfall schedules to fixed deadlines while ensuring quality standards and profitability, with the ability to strategically implement Agile methodologies within waterfall programs to enhance speed and control schedule risks.
- Strong technical abilities and the demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Experience in client-facing roles with enterprise-level clients.
- A solid understanding of PMP methodologies and best practices
- Travel up to 25% of the time is required
- Must possess a valid driver's license in their state of residence.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Project Management experience with large, complex technical projects within an at-scale program.
- Experience with Electronic Security Systems (ESS).
- Certified Security Project Manager - CSPM.
- PMP certification from the Project Management Institute.
