We connect you with verified openings from employers you can trust.Job Summary:Picarro, Inc. is seeking a CEMS Field Engineer who will install, operate, and maintain air quality and continuous emissions monitoring systems. The role involves significant travel and requires proficiency in gas measurement instrumentation and data communication protocols, along with responsibilities such as installations, calibrations, and customer training.Responsibilities:• Conduct installations of monitoring systems, including all sample handling equipment and PLC programming.• Complete key objectives, such as quarterly quality assurance testing and/or daily calibration testing of differential pressure flowmeters, ultrasonic flowmeters, and hazardous air pollutant CEMS,• Communicate with Project Managers to define time and resource requirements for a project and coordinate these deadlines with clients and third-party firms.• Communicate with industrial site operations personnel to identify and fix issues as needed.• Complete required customer safety training and comply with safety rules on customer sites.• Conduct calibrations and validation tests for installed systems as required either by an established quality assurance plan or environmental regulation.• Maintain hardware and spare parts inventory.• Maintain a quarterly quality assurance schedule and document the completion of all items.• Log system downtime and emissions for trend analysis.• Train customers on the functionality, maintenance, and operation of installed systems.• Develop system manuals, test procedures, and guidance documents as required.• Ability to work with our software team for programming DAS and PLC to meet their specific requirements• Help develop and/or update SOPs for future project work.Qualifications:Required:• Approximately 2+ years of experience installing and maintaining complex emissions monitoring systems or equal amount of time working in an industrial setting in an instrumentation or electrical field.• Experience, or the ability to familiarize oneself in environmental monitoring, safety systems, CEM, fenceline, stack testing, or similar complex industrial monitoring systems a major plus for this position.• Experience with PLC and Modbus communication protocols• Ability to travel approximately 70% of the time, including to our headquarters in Santa Clara, CA.Preferred:• Bachelor's degree or Comparable Military Experience or Technical Degree with job experience.• Instrumentation and Electrical Certification(s)Company:Picarro produces gas analyzers for a variety of markets, including atmospheric science, greenhouse gas measurement, air quality, and others.
