The Energy Storage Engineer provides technical leadership, engineering oversight, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver best-in-class storage solutions.The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth in energy storage or power systems, solid project execution skills, and brings hands-on experience supporting projects from early design through completion.Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering & DesignSupport the design phase and engineer major components for utility-scale energy storage projectsIdentify inconsistencies in engineering drawings and take corrective action to improve design quality and efficiencyReview engineering studies, identify errors, and propose corrective and preventative solutionsPrepare technical scopes of work for engineering and equipment contractsProject Execution & CoordinationSupport projects from inception through completion in partnership with project managersInfluence project teams on technical and engineering-related decisionsTrack project milestones, monitor risks, and flag technical issuesStay informed on project status and actively resolve technical challengesEquipment & Supplier IntegrationCollaborate with suppliers to integrate major equipment and systemsReview specifications for major equipment purchases and ensure clear technical communicationPropose technical solutions related to system integration, controls, and performancePermitting & ComplianceUnderstand permitting requirements and identify potential legal or regulatory challengesPropose site design improvements to address permitting constraintsCollaboration & TravelWork cross-functionally with engineering, construction, project management, and external partnersTravel up to 25% for project-specific support and in-office collaborationPerform additional duties as assignedPreferred Qualifications & Experience3+ years of experience in Solar/PV Engineering and/or ConstructionExpertise in one or more of the following:Battery energy storage system (BESS) designPower electronicsSubstation designGeneration tie designFamiliarity with energy storage technologies, including:Lithium-ion battery systemsPower conversion units (PCUs)DC/DC convertersWorking knowledge of energy storage safety standards:UL 1973, UL 9540, UL 9540ANFPA 855, NFPA 70ENEC and applicable IFC/IBC codesFamiliarity with IEC standards:IEC 61215, 61646, 61730Ability to independently handle specialized technical tasksStrong written and verbal communication skillsJob Location PreferenceJuno Beach, FL strongly preferredOpen to remote candidates with strong qualifications who are willing to travel more frequently for in-office collaborationJ-18808-Ljbffr
