Job Overview: Search Solution Group is seeking a Maintenance Director on behalf of our client, a leading organization in the U.S. spirits and wine industry. This role is responsible for overseeing all engineering, maintenance, and capital project functions at the facility. The Maintenance Director plays a critical leadership role in driving equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and long-term strategic planning, while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all engineering, maintenance, repair, and capital project activities for the facility
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and performance
- Establish and monitor performance targets, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
- Oversee maintenance and engineering budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety and environmental regulations
- Plan, organize, and execute capital projects on time and within budget
- Negotiate vendor and supplier contracts to support operational needs
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing maintenance and engineering team
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support overall business objectives
- Maintain and improve key maintenance KPIs and performance metrics
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, 22000)
Requirements include: Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of engineering leadership experience
- Proven experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
- Experience managing capital projects and maintenance programs
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities
- Project management and strategic planning skills
- Budget management and financial acumen
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production systems (e.g., JD Edwards, Kronos)
Certifications:
- Relevant engineering or maintenance certifications are a plus
Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of maintenance best practices, including preventative and predictive maintenance
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety compliance standards
- Experience with ISO compliance standards and continuous improvement processes
