Pension Analyst
Our Pension Analyst works in a team and is responsible for administering pension plans for assigned clients and providing analytical and administrative support to both clients and the team.
Responsibilities
Perform standard pension benefit calculations (retirements, terminations, etc.) in accordance with plan rules and legislative requirements
Assist in the preparation of year‑end annual pension statement
Work with pension databases and TELUS Health’s internal software/systems
Receive and respond to routine plan enquiries and requests from clients
Collaborate with and support senior team members
Participate in internal training sessions to build knowledge of industry topics and trends
Assist with special projects, as required
Contribute to special projects as needed
Qualifications
Post‑secondary education (preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science)
0–2 years of Defined Benefit or Defined Contribution pension administration experience, including retirement, termination, and death calculations, and experience with multi‑employer pension plans
Knowledge of Defined Benefit pension plans and provincial pension and tax legislation
Strong analytical and mathematical skills
Excellent client service and professional judgment
Clear communication skills (both verbal and written) and strong organizational abilities
Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook); expert‑level Excel skills
Ability to work collaboratively, take ownership of tasks, and seek support when needed
Nice to have: Excel and/or Access skills
