TheUniversity will not sponsor applicants for work visas (e.g., H-1B). Job SummaryPerforms ground maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep of university grounds and related areas. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Plants trees, shrubs, flowers, and grass; trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls using clippers and edging tools; prunes shrubs and hedges to shape and improve growth; and rakes and removes leaves.
- Cleans drainage ditches and culverts; hauls debris to dumping area.
- Cut lawns using hand mowers, power mowers, or power trimmers/edgers.
- Clean and maintain sidewalks, parking lots, and other campus grounds.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); Three months related experience and/or training relating to grounds or landscape work. Valid Driver's License Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)
- Knowledge of grounds maintenance practices, plant care, and landscaping principles.
- Knowledge of the proper use and maintenance of groundskeeping equipment.
- Skill in using groundskeeping equipment, such as lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, and edgers.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with everyone.
Preferred Qualifications One year ofgrounds or landscape related experience.
