Part-time (approx. 28 hours perweek,which will include some nights and weekends) onthe Bethlehem Campus. The Science Resource Center program manager is instrumental in supporting student success by creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where students are empowered to become independent learners through individualized academic support. The program manager also supports tutors by offering guidance andprofessional developmentopportunitieswhile balancing their tutoring schedule.
Reporting to the science tutoring coordinator witha "dottedline"relationship to the Learning Center directoras a member of the Learning Center core team, specific activities include recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and mentoring~25peer and/or professional sciencetutors;utilizing tutor scheduling software (WC Online); and contributing to program-wide initiatives as a member of the Learning Center core team.Although theprimary responsibilities of the role areadministrative,the program managerwill also tutor students in science when staffing needs are necessary.
Abachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, health sciences, or a related discipline,knowledge of tutoringand/or teachingpedagogy, experience in higher education or another academic environment, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to learn new technologies, and an enthusiastic commitment to lifelong learning and supporting the growth and success of all students and staff are required. A master's degree,previousleadership or supervisory experience,experience working with diverse populations,and/orexperience working in a college level tutoring program or another student success program are preferred.
