THE EMPLOYER

A Buffalo NY based not-for-profit, public benefit corporation is currently looking for a full-time Bookkeeper to join their team (37.5 hours per week). This mission-based organization has a long history of supporting businesses, creating job opportunities and promoting economic growth in Western New York. They are known for their team-oriented culture and high employee retention. This is a fully on-site role with flexible scheduling of daily hours.

THE JOB

Day-to-day responsibilities include the following:

Record transactions in the general ledger, verifying accuracy and proper account coding
Process cash disbursements and ensure timely distribution
Review and research any general ledger discrepancies and assist with account reconciliation
Create and maintain electronic records of all cash disbursements
Organize receipts, invoices, and other documentation
Prepare and deliver bank deposits
Obtain and maintain W-9s for vendors, updating when needed
Prepare month end pre-close trial balances and review for errors
Coordinate reconciliation of bank accounts with the Accounting Manager
Enter loan disbursements and payments in loan management software and generate monthly borrower statements

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred, but not required
1-3 years' experience in bookkeeping/accounting required
Experience entering transactions into accounting software; experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or DownHome Solutions software experience is a plus
Sound analytical skills to identify discrepancies or errors
Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of the organization
Professional attitude and integrity

COMPENSATION

Currently, the good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position is $28-32 per hour. Where a successful applicant is slotted within this range will vary, based on legitimate criteria, such as experience and skill level.
