A highly innovative engineering company focused on next-generation industrial and energy systems is hiring a CNC Machinist / Programmer to support its in-house manufacturing operations in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys precision machining, solving complex manufacturing challenges, and working closely with engineers to bring highly technical hardware from concept into production.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, program, and operate CNC mills and lathes in a precision manufacturing environment
- Support machining efforts for both prototype and low-volume production components
- Optimize tooling, setups, feeds/speeds, and machining strategies for accuracy and efficiency
- Inspect finished parts using precision measurement and metrology equipment
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams on manufacturability and process improvements
- Troubleshoot machining, dimensional, and quality-related issues
- Maintain documentation related to machining processes and part configurations
- Assist with shop organization, equipment upkeep, and continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of CNC machining experience in a professional manufacturing environment
- Experience programming and operating CNC mills and/or lathes
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation
- Experience using inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs
- Familiarity with CAM software such as Fusion 360, Mastercam, or similar platforms
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly technical environment with shifting priorities
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on mentality with a willingness to take ownership across multiple areas of manufacturing
