Job OverviewAs a member of our Protection & Control Engineering Services Team, you will be responsible for creating substation drawing packages including one-line drawings, three-line drawings, DC schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, component layouts, electrical plans, and detailed assembly drawings that will be drafted using AutoCAD and MicroStation. Our P&C Engineering Services teams also perform fault analysis and coordination studies, SCADA settings, along with developing settings for most station relays.A Day In The LifeInterpret customer specifications and provide a design which meets all requirementsUnderstand the theories and fundamentals of electrical circuits and related componentsPerform QC checks of complete drawing and relay setting packagesCreate project transmission and distribution specific protection and control schematic diagrams for large scale projectsLead and develop complete and detailed customer site visits and technical scopes for projects which meet customer requirementsCreate protection and control schematic diagrams from a 1-Line diagramCreate site specific 1-Line diagramsUpdate/revise existing customer substation legacy Brownfield schematics and wiring diagramsProvide guidance to engineers on technical issuesPerform all Project Management activities and lead large projects without supervisionCreate and revise RTU Point assignments (RPA's)Perform transmission and distribution protection and control relay setting calculations and coordination studies including breakers, transformers, bus protection, capacitor bank, and reactor settingsRecognize a need for, and champion process improvementsDevelop training and mentor Engineers, P&C Designers, and TechniciansCustomer visits (travel approximately 20% of the time)What will help you thrive in this role?Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology; P.E. license or P.E. track preferredMinimum seven years of Transmission and Distribution Protection and Control related experienceThorough understanding of the function, operation and application of T&D relay protection functionsThorough understanding of the operation and function of all substation equipmentKnowledge and understanding of the specifications, structure, programming and configuration of the following control devices is also beneficial:Microprocessor Based Protection and Control RelaysRS-232/RS485/Fiber optic/Ethernet CommunicationRTU EquipmentHMISCADA SystemsAdvanced working knowledge of MS Office SuiteStrong attention to detailProven analytical & problem-solving skillsHubbell IncorporatedHubbell Incorporated, its subsidiaries and affiliates, is an EO Employer AA: M/F/Veteran/Disability.
