Topcon Field Service Engineer (FSE) provides technical support to customers, performing installations, preventive maintenance, and repairs for Topcon Eyecare equipment.
Responsibilities
Conduct independent or supervised on‑site installations, preventive maintenance, and repairs of Topcon Eyecare equipment, examination lanes, and telehealth network platforms.
Execute hardware and software upgrades and participate in limited departmental projects.
Use sound judgment to select methods and techniques for obtaining solutions within established policies and practices.
Work independently and coordinate with the scheduling team to manage work calendar and travel schedule.
Serve as the company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters.
Collaborate with other FSEs, the Field Service Manager, Sales Representatives, and internal cross‑functional teams.
Manage and control field inventory, tools, test equipment, technical documentation, and other assigned equipment.
Prepare and submit accurate field service documentation, including service reports, expense reports, and service checklists.
Assist in travel and support other Field Service territories as needed, including instruction and training of customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
Participate in installations, maintenance, and demonstrations at conventions, road shows, and seminars as required.
Requirements
Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience, preferably as a field service professional or in a related capacity.
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
CompTIA Network+ certification or networking background preferred.
Demonstrated functional technical, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with customers.
Ability to follow mentorship instructions, manage time effectively, and meet customer commitments.
Must be able to regularly lift 50+ lbs and push or pull heavy material.
Valid passport and/or REAL ID‑compliant identification required for travel.
Travel requirement: approximately 90% of the time.
Preferred location: Athens, GA or East Atlanta.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Pay Range: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour (projected range for full‑time schedule).
Car Allowance: Eligibility for a $600 monthly car allowance.

Hourly employees are eligible for paid personal time off; salaried employees are eligible for a flexible paid time‑off policy.
