Purpose of Position
Responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting information to identify threats, assess risks, and vulnerabilities at the system and institutional level. Produces intelligence reports that provide actionable insights to support decision-making, threat mitigation, and strategic planning.
Essential Functions
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze complex data from various sources, including open-source intelligence, law enforcement databases, surveillance, and intelligence networks.
- Research and Forecasting: Conduct research on law enforcement trends and activities and track emerging threats to support business operations and strategy formulation.
- Reporting: Produce detailed and actionable intelligence reports and forecasts to inform strategic decision-making, increase operational efficiency, and enhance security posture.
- Threat Assessment: Identify and assess potential threats, vulnerabilities, and risks to organizations and develop countermeasures to mitigate risks.
- Collaboration: Work with external law enforcement agencies, institutional components, and intelligence partners to collect data, consolidate information, and present findings to stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about current events and industry changes and develop new methods for data analysis.
- Database Maintenance: Develop and maintain intelligence databases or systems.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret complex data and identify patterns.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collect, organize, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, qualitative and quantitative research.
- Experience with intelligence analytic tools, methodologies, and programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as intelligence studies, political science, international relations, computer science, or cybersecurity.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as an analyst or similar role.
Preferred Qualifications
- A master's degree is preferred.
- Five (5) or more years of relevant experience.
- Industry recognized certifications, such as IAT, CISSP, SANS, CEH, SAR, CTF, IAM, GIAC, CCNA, SSL.

Additional Information The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to a minimum of 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. Participation in TRS is mandatory. A background check will be conducted on candidates under final consideration.
