About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Transportation Construction Manager with a strong field engineering background to oversee roadway and transportation infrastructure projects throughout the Houston area. This is a hands-on, in-field position supporting active TxDOT and HCTRA-related construction projects.
The ideal candidate will have direct experience managing transportation construction activities, interpreting roadway construction plans/specifications, coordinating with contractors and inspectors, addressing RFIs, and ensuring compliance with TxDOT/HCTRA standards.
This is not a vertical/commercial building construction role.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day construction operations on transportation infrastructure projects
- Conduct in-field reviews of construction plans, drawings, and specifications
- Coordinate with contractors, agency inspectors, and project teams to ensure compliance
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and quality standards in the field
- Prepare field reports, RFIs, and construction documentation
- Serve as the primary liaison between office project managers and field crews
Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) — required
- Demonstrated field engineering and construction management experience
- HCTRA experience strongly preferred; TxDOT experience accepted
- Strong knowledge of transportation construction standards and practices
- Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $120,000–$175,000 depending on experience
