Insight Global is hiring a Electrical CAD Designer for a client in the Houston area (Jersey Village). This role will be responsible for designing various electrical components and schematics from scratch. Including switchgears, VFD cabinets/enclosures, line up designs, switch panels, electrical hoses etc. They will join a team of existing designers (6 + manager) and collaborate with the engineering team for schematics/approvals on designs.
- Design electrical cabinets, panels, and power systems.
- Build wiring diagrams and schematics from scratch.
- Design VFD cabinets and MCC style lineups.
- Choose components and lay out how everything connects.
- Ensure drawings meet electrical codes and standards.
- Support engineers, fabrication, and field teams.
Required Skillset:
- Strong AutoCAD Electrical - creating designs and schematics from scratch - (i.e switchgear
- Experience creating electrical engineering schematics (ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and power schematics.)
- Experience creating Electrical Panel/Electrical enclosure design/Electrical cabinets (VFD cabinets, MCCs, switch panels, and electrical houses.)
- 5+ Years of experience in electrical design
