Successful manufacturer is adding business and investing in their facility! They are adding the position of
Continuous Improvement Coordinator
to work Monday-Friday day shift and facilitate and administer Lean Manufacturing initiatives for the site. The engineering and operations teams in the plant will identify and lead CI directives, while this person will support their efforts and document their progress and savings. The
Continuous Improvement Coordinator
will report to and be trained by a CI Manager. The Lean Manufacturing Coordinator is responsible for the following duties:
- Facilitate and organize continuous improvement (CI) efforts for operations and engineering at the plant
- Generate and update work instructions, including meeting with operations leaders and general labor to discuss manufacturing processes
- Assist with implementation of Lean and CI tools at the plant
- Facilitate, organize and perform training for new and existing employees
- Document savings and metrics of ongoing and completed CI activities for internal and corporate communication
- Gather metrics and data for analysis and organization, including developing Pareto charts based on the findings
- Assist with and/or lead Kaizen events and Poka-yoke initiatives
- Support other Lean initiatives, including 5S, RCA, Kaizen, Gemba walks, layered audits, boardwalks, etc.
- Other duties as directed by management
This position requires candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 40% of their day. Candidates should be willing to complete administrative tasks, lead and initiate training efforts, be energetic, have the ability to communicate at all levels, be able to take ownership of projects and be comfortable on the manufacturing floor. Strong analysis skills are required! Although rare, candidates should be willing to take off-shift calls as needed to answer any questions. Medical benefits are available day one of employment. Requirements for the Continuous Improvement Coordinator:
- A Bachelor's degree in management, operations, business, supply chain or a related field
- The desire to learn about Lean and continuous improvement initiatives, such as 5S, RCA, Kaizen, Gemba walks, layered audits, boardwalks, etc.
- Excellent leadership and facilitation skills
- The desire to facilitate training
- Microsoft Office, including Word, TEAMS, Excel and Outlook
Skills that are preferred, BUT NOT required:
- Lean or Six Sigma certifications
- ERP experience
- Experience working in consumer products manufacturing or process oriented manufacturing
- PowerBI
- TWI familiarity
- Supervision experience
