Role Description
We are seeking a driven and relationship-focused Packaging Sales Representative to join our team. The role
is a broad, hunter-style sales role focused primarily on new business development. You will prospect, qualify, and close new B2B accounts while building long-term relationships with clients who require custom packaging solutions. This is a high-impact, highly visible role with significant earning potential through our base plus commission compensation structure.
This is an in-office position with frequent local travel to customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention
Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold outreach, networking, referrals, and industry events
Develop a deep understanding of each prospect's packaging needs and position Hi-Tech's custom solutions accordingly
Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through proposal, negotiation, and close
- Conduct regular in-person customer visits to understand packaging needs, production processes, and pain points
- Collaborate with internal teams (design, production, and operations) to develop tailored packaging solutions
- Drive revenue growth by upselling and cross-selling custom packaging products
- Track sales activity, pipeline, and customer interactions
- Stay informed on industry trends, materials, and innovative packaging solutions
Qualifications
- 2+ years of sales experience (B2B sales preferred; packaging or manufacturing experience is a plus)
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Ability to understand technical product requirements and translate them into solutions
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to prospecting and account growth
- Organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally
Preferred Experience
- Experience in custom packaging, industrial sales, or a related field
- Familiarity with materials such as corrugated, foam, or protective packaging solutions
- Experience working with manufacturing or distribution clients
