Atlas Machine & Supply is expanding its grinding and repair capabilities to support complex industrial components and assemblies. This CNC Grinder role plays a critical part in maintaining tight tolerances, restoring components, and supporting both manufacturing and repair operations in a high-mix environment.

The Work You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
Set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, and NC grinding machines
Perform cylindrical, surface, internal, and crankshaft grinding operations
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and specifications
Select grinding wheels, fixtures, attachments, and materials
Set speeds, feeds, coolant flow, and depth of cut to meet specifications
Perform trial runs and adjust machine settings to verify accuracy
Inspect finished parts to ensure conformance to tolerances
Assist with assembly, teardown, and repair of components
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve grinding challenges
Maintain a safe work environment and follow all regulatory requirements

What We’re Looking For
Required:
1–3+ years of grinding or machinist experience
Strong ability to read blueprints and interpret sketches
Understanding of grinding setups, wheel selection, and tolerances
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail and quality
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred (Not Required):
Journeyman Machinist certification
Experience with crankshaft or internal grinding
Repair or rebuild experience
