Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician serves as a critical link between Product Engineering and Manufacturing, ensuring designs are translated efficiently and accurately into production. This role is responsible for developing CNC programs, supporting shop floor operations, and training employees on equipment and processes. The technician also plays a key role in troubleshooting issues, improving workflows, and ensuring high-quality fabrication and assembly of trailer components and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain CNC programs using CAM and nesting software to support production needs.
- Train operators on CNC machine setup, operation, and program usage.
- Provide hands-on technical support to manufacturing teams, including interpreting engineering drawings and resolving fabrication or assembly questions.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering to identify and communicate drawing discrepancies or improvement opportunities.
- Assist in the design and creation of jigs, fixtures, and plant layouts using CAD software.
- Support implementation and training for new equipment, tooling, and processes.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues, identify root causes, and help implement corrective actions.
- Create and maintain spreadsheets, documentation, and technical records related to CNC operations.
- Access, update, and manage engineering documentation, including drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Continuously identify and drive process improvements to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic proficiency with computers and standard office software
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and production documentation
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
Preferred:
- Associate degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or related field
- Experience with CNC machines, CAD, and CAM/nesting software
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or engineering support role

Safety Requirements:
