Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description
This role focuses on safely operating stand-up forklifts and related equipment to support inbound and outbound warehouse operations in a large distribution facility handling FDA-regulated products. You will load and unload trucks, move full pallets, and put products away while maintaining high quality standards and following established procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operate a stand-up forklift to support inbound and outbound activities, including loading and unloading trucks.
- Pick and move full pallets and place products into designated storage locations accurately and safely.
- Use RF scanners and basic computer systems to complete inventory transactions and maintain accurate records.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to handle FDA-regulated products correctly.
- Inspect products and documentation to identify and correct errors, ensuring quality takes priority over quantity.
- Perform dedicated case picking as assigned, ensuring orders are complete, accurate, and properly staged.
- Handle equipment such as stand-up and high-reach forklifts, reach trucks, and electric pallet jacks (EPJ) as needed.
- Support shipping and receiving activities, including checking inbound and outbound shipments and verifying counts.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area within the warehouse.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and immediately report any hazards, incidents, or equipment issues.
- Work assigned shifts consistently, demonstrating reliable attendance and stable work habits.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience operating a stand-up forklift in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Ability to safely load and unload trucks using forklifts and related equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Good computer skills and proficiency using RF scanners for inventory and order processing.
- Strong attention to detail, especially when working with FDA-regulated products.
- Ability to identify and correct mistakes and ensure GMPs and SOPs are followed.
- Stable and consistent work history demonstrating reliability and strong attendance.
- Basic math skills to verify counts and quantities.
- Experience in inbound, outbound, shipping, receiving, and general warehouse operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- SAP or similar inventory management system experience.
- Experience operating Crown forklifts, including stand-up and high-reach models.
- Experience using reach trucks and electric pallet jacks (EPJ).
- Prior experience as a dedicated case picker in a distribution or warehouse setting.

Work Environment
You will work in a large, semi-climate-controlled, 500,000 square foot distribution warehouse with approximately 40 employees. The facility is brand new and designed with safety as a top priority. The building has air conditioning in the summer but no heat in the winter to keep products below a required temperature. The site serves as a distribution hub for chocolate manufacturing products such as roasted beans, chocolate liquor, powders, and cocoa butter. Shifts are 12 hours, typically 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on a rotating schedule that includes Sunday–Tuesday with every other Wednesday, or Thursday–Saturday with every other Wednesday. There is also a Sunday–Thursday night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. You will regularly use stand-up and high-reach forklifts, reach trucks, RF scanners, and electric pallet jacks while working in a warehouse setting that emphasizes quality, safety, and adherence to procedures.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
