About the Job: We are seeking a hands-on Controls Engineer to support daily operations, maintenance, and process improvements at our clients manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for someone experienced in controls troubleshooting, PLC/HMI programming, and automation upgrades who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities include:
· Troubleshoot and maintain controls, PLCs, sensors, VFDs, and processing/packaging equipment.
· Lead root cause analysis and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
· Support system upgrades, PLC logic modifications, HMI development, and hardware retrofits.
· Document troubleshooting guides, schematics, and SOPs.
· Collaborate with operations and engineering to drive continuous improvement, safety, and compliance.
· Train operators and maintenance staff on updated systems.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Electrical/Automation field.
- 5+ years of controls troubleshooting in manufacturing (packaging/material handling preferred).
- Proficiency in PLCs (Allen-Bradley/Siemens) and HMIs (FactoryTalk preferred).
- Knowledge of industrial networks, safety circuits, and control panels.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Experience with robotics, high-speed packaging, fiber processing, or dust control systems is preferred.
· Must be willing to travel to support new plants as needed.
Compensation: $110,000-$135,000
