Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain data acquisition hardware systems used in product testing and validation activities.
- Build, modify, and troubleshoot electrical wiring harnesses and test equipment kits.
- Interpret electrical schematics and translate them into functional wiring and hardware assemblies.
- Perform hands-on electrical work including wiring, soldering, connector installation, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Utilize electrical tools and instruments such as multimeters, drills, and related lab equipment.
- Support CAN-based communication systems including CAN J1939, CAN CCP, and serial communication protocols.
- Assist with hardware setup, integration, and debugging activities in a testing laboratory environment.
- Collaborate daily with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional team members to support ongoing testing activities.
- Maintain organized documentation related to hardware builds, configurations, and troubleshooting activities.
- Support continuous improvement efforts for data acquisition and testing systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant hands-on engineering or hardware support experience.
- Internship experience may be considered if combined with:
- Minimum 2 years in an electrical-focused internship role
- Plus 3 years of professional industry experience
- Strong hands-on electrical and hardware troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and create wiring harness assemblies.
- Experience with:
- Wiring and soldering
- Multimeters and electrical tools
- Hardware assembly and kit builds
- CAN J1939
- CAN CCP
- Serial bus communication systems
- Strong organizational and task prioritization skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in testing laboratories or validation environments.
- Experience supporting data acquisition systems for heavy equipment, automotive, mining, transportation, or industrial applications.
- Familiarity with electrical test equipment and instrumentation.
- Exposure to embedded systems or electronic control modules (ECMs).
