Job Title: Assistant Project Manager
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Salary: $140K-$160K + Benefits
A well-established General Contractor specializing in heavy civil infrastructure projects across New York City is looking to add an experienced Assistant Project Manager to their team. The company has a strong reputation in the industry and an impressive pipeline of MTA and public infrastructure work.
This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional looking to play a key role in delivering complex transportation and public works projects throughout NYC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Project Managers with the day-to-day management of heavy civil construction projects
- Assist with scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and subcontractor coordination
- Review project drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals
- Coordinate with field teams, consultants, owners, and public agencies
- Track project progress and help ensure compliance with contract requirements and safety standards
- Prepare project documentation, reports, meeting minutes, and change orders
- Participate in meetings with MTA representatives and project stakeholders
- Help ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction
- Previous experience with MTA, transit, bridge, tunnel, roadway, or public infrastructure projects strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of construction operations, scheduling, and project controls
- Experience with Primavera P6, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office preferred
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and coordination skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced project environment
