Job Details Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the organization's accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and effective stewardship of organizational resources. The Controller will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic objectives while maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to GAAP standards. Prepare and deliver timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for leadership and key stakeholders. Manage the general ledger, sub-ledgers, month-end and year-end close processes, and account reconciliations. Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard organizational assets and ensure financial accountability. Monitor cash flow, banking activities, and financial transactions to support sound fiscal management. Coordinate and support annual audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance requirements. Evaluate and enhance accounting systems, processes, and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborate with department leaders to align financial operations with organizational goals and strategic initiatives. Train and support staff on accounting systems, policies, and best practices. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures to promote consistency, accuracy, and compliance across financial functions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required. CPA designation preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong expertise in general ledger management, financial reporting, audits, account reconciliations, and close-cycle processes. Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance requirements. Experience with accounting, financial management, and productivity software systems. Nonprofit accounting experience preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
