Senior SQL Database Administrator
Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Full-Time)

Whitehall Resources is supporting a leading U.S.-based technology organisation in the search for a Senior SQL Database Administrator to join their enterprise infrastructure team.
This is primarily a SQL Server DBA role, with only light/basic SAP Basis exposure required. The position will focus heavily on SQL Server administration, performance tuning, clustering, upgrades, patching, and maintaining high availability across critical production systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and optimise Microsoft SQL Server environments
- Manage SQL clustering and Always On Availability Groups
- Perform database patching, upgrades, migrations, backup, and recovery
- Monitor performance and troubleshoot database issues
- Support database security, reliability, and compliance
- Work closely with infrastructure and application teams
SAP Basis exposure required includes:
- Basic SAP system administration support
- Monitoring batch jobs and reviewing ABAP dumps
- Supporting SAP system health and performance activities
- Working alongside SAP functional and Basis teams
Required Experience:
- 7+ years as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments
- Strong SQL Server clustering and performance tuning experience
- Experience with upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery
- Windows Server and Active Directory exposure
- Basic SAP Basis knowledge
Nice to Have:
- PowerShell or Azure SQL exposure
- Monitoring tools such as SCOM, SolarWinds, Redgate, or Idera
- SAP Security experience
