Job Description Line Operator 3rd shift Monday - Saturday 10:30pm - 7am The Line Operator is responsible for the daily operation and performance of a production line. This role focuses on safety, quality, efficiency, equipment maintenance, and minimizing downtime. Flexibility is required to work 40+ hours per week, including weekends and varying shifts due to equipment changeovers. Key Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture
- Operate and monitor a plastic extrusion line to ensure products meet quality standards and customer specifications
- Follow standard operating procedures to maintain optimal production performance
- Perform line start-ups, shutdowns, and tooling changeovers
- Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues; perform necessary repairs and adjustments
- Conduct product sampling to ensure consistent quality
- Accurately complete production reports and documentation
- Support preventative maintenance programs
- Meet or exceed production efficiency targets
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper use of PPE
- Continuously develop skills to operate multiple production lines
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to safely operate equipment such as forklifts
- Effective reading and writing skills
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous manufacturing, machine operation, or extrusion experience preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods in varying temperatures
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and squatting
- Ability to stand and move throughout an entire shift
- Capability to safely handle and transport materials and operate industrial equipment
Compensation & Benefits Hourly Pay: Starting at $22.75, plus shift differentials where applicable. Pay may vary based on location, experience, and qualifications. Benefits Include:
