Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer IV to support expansion and maintenance capital projects for compressor station and industrial facility operations. This role will oversee electrical, controls, and instrumentation design activities executed by third-party engineering firms while ensuring compliance with company standards, NEC requirements, budget, and project schedules.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with large horsepower turbine/electrical motor-driven centrifugal compressor stations, industrial power systems, PLC-based controls, and hazardous classified area design.
Key Responsibilities
Manage electrical and controls engineering design for capital and maintenance projects
Coordinate with third-party engineering firms to ensure project deliverables meet quality, budget, and schedule requirements
Review and approve engineering drawings, technical reports, equipment specifications, and material lists
Provide technical oversight for power distribution systems, motor control centers, switchgear, transformers, grounding systems, and generators
Support PLC/SCADA controls, ESD systems, valve actuators, PID loops, and instrumentation systems
Review vendor quotations and provide technical evaluations for equipment selection
Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and startup activities
Ensure compliance with NEC codes, industry standards, environmental, health, and safety requirements
Support project scope development, execution planning, risk management, and capital cost estimating
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across projects.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
7+ years of progressively responsible electrical engineering and project management experience
Strong experience with:
480V and 4160V power systems
MCCs, switchgear, transformers, relays, synchronous motors
PLC-based control systems (Allen-Bradley preferred)
Wonderware/HMI systems
Instrumentation including transmitters, RTDs, thermocouples, flame & gas detection systems
Hazardous classified area design and NEC compliance
Compressor station or industrial facility projects
