SIT-DOWN FORKLIFT OPERATOR (12hr shifts 4 on 3 off) Schedule: 1st Shift 6AM-6:30PM Pay: $17/hr Employment Type: temp-to-hire COMPANY OVERVIEW Royal Interpack is a fully integrated, eco-friendly PET thermoforming manufacturer producing food-grade packaging for the produce, bakery, and grab-and-go industries. Their Whitestown, IN facility is part of a global operation employing 500+ people and producing over 300 million lbs of recycled PET annually. POSITION SUMMARY The Sit-Down Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently moving raw materials, finished goods, and production materials throughout the facility using a propane sit-down forklift. This role supports both production and warehouse operations in a fast-paced, food-grade manufacturing environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate propane sit-down forklift to transport raw materials, WIP, and finished goods throughout the facility
- Load and unload inbound and outbound trailers
- Move PET sheet rolls, bales, and finished product containers to designated staging and storage areas
- Support production lines by ensuring timely delivery of materials
- Verify load accuracy and inspect product for visible damage before moving
- Maintain accurate inventory movement records and scan materials as required
- Conduct pre-shift forklift inspections and report any equipment issues
- Keep work areas clean and organized per housekeeping standards
- Follow all safety protocols, GMP guidelines, and food-grade facility requirements
- Communicate with production, shipping, and warehouse teams to coordinate material flow
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Valid forklift certification or demonstrated sit-down forklift experience required
- Propane forklift experience specifically preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing, food production, or warehouse environment a plus
- Ability to read and follow work orders, labels, and basic shipping documents
- Reliable attendance and ability to maintain pace in a high-volume production facility
- Strong safety mindset and awareness in a busy floor environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus but not required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged sitting while operating forklift; frequent getting on and off throughout shift
- Lifting up to 50 lbs as needed
- Working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures
- PPE required (safety vest, steel-toed boots, safety glasses)
