Product Applications Engineer
Location: San Francisco Bay/Hybrid - up to 30% travel
Compensation: $90,000- $145,000 + equity
Edison Smart is partnered with a well-funded energy technology startup building next-generation sensing and condition monitoring systems for critical power infrastructure including transformers, inverters, and grid-connected assets.
Key skills:
- 5+ years in applications engineering, field engineering, or solutions engineering within power systems or energy infrastructure
- Strong understanding of transformers, inverters, substations, MV/HV systems, or distributed energy assets
- Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics, commissioning, troubleshooting, or power quality analysis
- Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, schematics, and electrical documentation Customer-facing experience managing technical deployments and field support
- Bonus: exposure to condition monitoring, predictive diagnostics, or utility-scale infrastructure (partial discharge, DGA, IEC/IEEE standards)
