About The Chi Center
The Chi Center, home of SouthWest Sanctuary, is a 150-acre healing sanctuary in the hills of northern New Mexico near Santa Fe. Founded by Master Mingtong Gu, the Center is a living embodiment of Wisdom Healing Qigong — a place where ancient medicine, community, and personal transformation converge. Our mission is to serve the collective healing and awakening of humanity through retreats, programs, teachings, and the cultivation of a vibrant global community.
We are a small, mission-driven team guided by five core values: Dedication and Service with Purpose; Self-Growth with Achievement; Joyfulness with Enthusiasm; Trust with Confidence and Creativity; and Awareness with Honesty and Integrity. Every team member is both a practitioner and a steward of these values.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Creative Executive Assistant to serve as a close creative partner and operational right hand to Master Mingtong Gu. This is not a conventional administrative role — it is a dynamic, mission-centered position at the intersection of creative production, digital media, community activation, and organizational support.
The ideal candidate is a creative professional who brings strong digital media skills, a passion for wellness and spiritual development, and the organizational acuity to keep complex, multi-dimensional projects moving with clarity and flow. She brings enthusiasm, adaptability, and a deep sense of purpose to everything she does — and she sees this role as an invitation to grow alongside the work.
Core Responsibilities
Creative Projects & Media Production
Support the creation and production of photo, video, and social media content for MMG's teachings, retreats, and public presence
Assist in the development of visual storytelling assets across digital platforms, including Instagram, YouTube, email, and the Chi Center website
Coordinate with external creative vendors (videographers, photographers, designers) and manage creative timelines
Apply AI-assisted tools and emerging media technologies to expand content reach and production quality
Shadow MMG's creative process and contribute original ideas in alignment with the brand's voice and spiritual depth
Retreat Center Coordination & Events
Coordinate logistics for local community events, workshops, and on-site retreats at SouthWest Sanctuary
Serve as a communication bridge between MMG, retreat participants, and the wider Chi Center team
Support the planning and execution of program schedules, venue setup, participant communications, and on-site hospitality
Assist with any operational needs that arise across SouthWest Sanctuary programs and properties
Communications & Media Relations
Coordinate and manage communication between MMG and media channels, press contacts, podcast hosts, and partner organizations
Draft correspondence, outreach letters, interview prep materials, and talking points on behalf of MMG
Track and respond to inbound media and collaboration inquiries in a timely and aligned manner
Support the planning and execution of publicity tours, speaking engagements, and public appearances
Administrative & Operational Support
Manage MMG's schedule, travel arrangements, and logistical coordination for creative and publicity projects
Maintain organized systems for project tracking, file management, and team communication
Assist with community-building initiatives, volunteer coordination, and partnership outreach
Attend and take notes during key meetings, team calls, and planning sessions — translating vision into action
Requirements
Skills & Experience
Demonstrated experience in digital media, content creation, and/or design (photo editing, video production, social media management)
Strong written and verbal communication skills — equally at home crafting a heartfelt outreach letter and a concise logistical email
Proficiency with AI tools and digital productivity platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Canva, Adobe suite, CapCut, or similar)
Experience in community building, event coordination, or administrative support in a mission-driven setting
Comfort working independently, managing multiple priorities, and adapting quickly as needs evolve
Personal Qualities
Willingness to learn, stretch beyond your comfort zone, and grow alongside the mission
Strong interest in art, media, wellness, and spiritual development — this work is personal as much as professional
A heart for service and a genuine passion for contributing to something larger than yourself
Flexibility and enthusiasm for travel — publicity tours, creative shoots, and retreat support may require time away from home
Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive — you anticipate needs before they're asked
Ideal Candidate
We envision a person who is creative, passionate, mission-driven, and ready for the kind of adventure that comes from doing meaningful work in a living, breathing healing community. Organized without being rigid, spiritually curious without losing a practical edge, and deeply committed to the intersection of art, healing, and transformation.
Someone who can hold space for the visionary and the logistical simultaneously — who can move from coordinating retreat guests in the morning to editing a video reel in the afternoon to drafting a media pitch by evening. They bring warmth, competence, and a quiet adventurousness to everything they do.
Above all, this person understands that this role is an immersive experience. To shadow Master Mingtong Gu across creative projects, teaching engagements, and community initiatives is to be initiated into the work itself. We are looking for someone who sees that as a gift.
Our Core Values — What You Will Live By
Dedication and Service with Purpose — commitment, vision-driven action, and paradigm-shifting courage
Self-Growth with Achievement — professionalism, accountability, and a problem-solving spirit
Joyfulness with Enthusiasm — love, inspiration, empowerment, and vitality
Trust with Confidence and Creativity — teamwork, community, creativity, and attention to detail
Awareness with Honesty and Integrity — openness, authenticity, doing the right thing, and compassion
