FABRICATION SUPERINTENDENT Category: Operations Management DESCRIPTION Oversees the efficiency of monitoring production, scanning make sheets, and discussing daily goals with Supervisors. Reports to the Fabrication Office for order sheets (make sheets), attends supervisor meetings, and reports work schedules to supervisors daily. Directs supervisors with respect to production volume, quality, cost, and meeting production schedules and delivery dates. Handles employee grievances, disputes, or problems in the most efficient manner possible; unresolved matters are escalated to Human Resources. Actively participates in group meetings, line meetings, and supervisory meetings. Works with the Quality Control department to ensure product quality and food safety. Trains and develops supervisors to provide management depth and build teamwork to achieve departmental objectives. Monitors and confirms that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized. Maintains good employee relations and adherence to labor contract provisions. Regular contact with line personnel and plant management. It is also one of the few plants that produce ground beef patties, generating over one million pounds of beef per day. The site employs sustainable practices, including biogas production from an anaerobic lagoon, used to replace natural gas for plant water heating. The facility has earned Tier 3 recognition from the American Meat Institute for its accomplishments with ISO 14001 and recently added an 85,000-sq-ft distribution center with capacity for 55,000 boxes.
