Brattleboro Memorial Hospital in Brattleboro, Vermont, is seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time Staff Orthopedic Surgeon to join its dynamic Orthopedics team. We offer comprehensive musculoskeletal care and surgical excellence within a collaborative healthcare environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and evaluate orthopedic conditions through physical examinations, medical history reviews, and diagnostic imaging such as X-rays, MRI, and CT scans.
- Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing both surgical and non-surgical approaches.
- Perform a wide range of orthopedic surgical procedures, including joint replacements, fracture repairs, arthroscopy, and other orthopedic interventions.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, ensuring patient safety, recovery, and optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including primary care providers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and rehabilitation specialists.
- Participate in rotating on-call coverage as part of a full-time orthopedic service.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient medical records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and care plans.
- Stay current with advancements in orthopedic surgery and apply evidence-based practices to clinical decision-making.
- Participate in continuing medical education, professional development activities, conferences, and workshops.
- Adhere to ethical, professional, and regulatory standards including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
Qualifications:
- Board certified or board eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Clean malpractice history.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and patient safety.
- Dedication to ongoing professional development.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Board certification or eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Valid Vermont medical license to practice as an orthopedic surgeon.
- Current CPR certification (must be obtained prior to start).
- DEA license (must be obtained prior to start).
