Drafter – Substation
The Substation Drafter supports the design of substation engineering projects.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create electrical drawings for facilities, such as lighting systems, power systems, communications, security, and fire detection in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Develop entry-level drawings by using computer-aided design software under the direct supervision of other Electrical Technicians or Engineers
- Demonstrate knowledge of procedures for production of design developments and construction documents, and a thorough knowledge of engineering planning, drafting, and detailing
- Perform other duties as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering required
- Strong AutoCAD skills
- Ability to learn MicroStation software
- Database/Document Management familiarity

Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in designing electrical lighting, power, and systems for building projects
- Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm highly desirable
- Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired
