Role DescriptionPosition Summary
We are seeking a mechanically inclined, hands-on CNC Setup Technician with the aptitude and desire to learn CNC programming using Striker Systems software. This role will be trained to develop and optimize machine programs while supporting daily production through machine setup, light-to-medium maintenance, and general machinist duties.
The ideal candidate has strong fabrication or machining fundamentals and is looking to grow into a programming role within a fast-paced metal shop environment.

Key Responsibilities
CNC Programming (Training Provided)
- Learn to create and modify CNC programs using Striker Systems software (training provided)
- Interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and CAD files to support program development
- Assist with program adjustments to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and optimize machine performance
- Progressively take ownership of programming responsibilities as skills develop
Machine Setup & Operation
- Perform machine setups including tooling selection, material setup, and first-piece validation
- Support CNC equipment operation (e.g., turret punch, press brake, insertion equipment)
- Troubleshoot setup and production issues in real time
- Ensure jobs are running efficiently and meeting quality standards
Maintenance & Equipment Support
- Perform light to medium maintenance, including:
- Preventative maintenance and routine inspections
- Basic mechanical adjustments and minor repairs
- Tooling upkeep and replacement
- Identify and report larger equipment issues requiring escalation
- Support coordination with external service technicians as needed
General Metal Shop Support
- Assist with fabrication processes such as deburring, hardware insertion, and assembly support
- Operate equipment such as turret punches (e.g., Strippit), press brakes, and Auto-Sert machines as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Support continuous improvement efforts within the shop
Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of experience in a metal fabrication, machining, or manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Hands-on experience with CNC equipment setup and/or operation
- Willingness and ability to learn CNC programming software (Striker Systems)
- Basic computer skills and comfort learning new systems
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience with CNC programming (any platform)
- Familiarity with turret punch presses (e.g., Strippit), press brakes, or similar equipment
- Experience with hardware insertion equipment (e.g., Auto-Sert)
- Basic maintenance experience (mechanical, pneumatic, or electrical)
