Aquatics Supervisor
The Aquatics Supervisor is responsible for all weekly operations at the pool. Must have the ability to communicate with people of all ages. Must be a good team leader. Should have previous experience in a management position, a current Texas Driver's license, and CPR/First Aid certification. Must be able to work between the hours of 8:30 am and 7:00 pm including weekends. This position may be required to work any time throughout the week and weekends.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Sports & Aquatics Coordinator. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Responsible for the supervision of cashiers, including but not limited to: management of accepting fees, accounting for fees received, and the turning in of all monies.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for safeguarding the lives of swimmers.
- Responsible for maintaining and enforcing pool safety.
- Responsible for overseeing all lifeguard operations, including but not limited to: lifeguard rotation, lifeguard awareness, lifeguard conduct, and the scheduling of guards.
- Responsible for creating itinerary for and administering all in-service trainings for lifeguards.
- Responsible for the supervision of cashiers, including but not limited to: management of accepting fees, accounting for fees received, and the turning in of all monies.
- Responsible for explaining and enforcing basic pool rules.
- Responsible for the planning and development of pool activities.
- Responsible for providing information regarding facility use and hours of operation.
- Responsible for conflict and customer relations.
- Responsible for assisting in general maintenance and cleanup of activities, facilities and restrooms.
- Responsible for the property of the City of Harker Heights Aquatics Center.
- Responsible for submitting reports for accidents, damage to facilities and equipment, problems among staff, and complaints from facility users.
- Attendance is an essential function of the job.

Minimum Qualifications
Must be First Aid, CPR Certified and Lifeguard Certified. Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification preferred. Must be a minimum of 17 years of age. Experience and/or training in lifeguarding and pool management or related field. This position requires good interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and organizational skills. This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills. The Aquatics Supervisor is required to interact with all users entering and exiting the pool. Must be able to relate rules and directions. This position requires the ability to provide support and encouragement to lifeguards and cashiers, and to communicate with the City of Harker Heights Parks & Recreation Department.
