The Data Center Community is looking for an extraordinary individual with proven and tested leadership and management skills as a leader in our data center operations organization in the Eastern Oregon Region as a Data Center Operations (DCO) Cluster Manager.
Data Center Operations Cluster Manager is one of our most senior management roles in the data center environment. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a large organization, managing managers who own data center infrastructure including the operational availability of network and server systems at scale.

The ideal candidate for this role will understand Data Center IT infrastructure and Amazon Web Services and understand how the two coexist. If this understanding is contextual, you will be served well by your experience.

As required by our contracts with the federal government, effective February 24, 2026, logical access to the AWS GovCloud region will be restricted to Amazon employees who are U.S. Citizens. (Lead and supervise a team of Data Center Managers (3-9 Area and front-line managers) and 100-150 hourly technicians within Regional Data Centers.
- Drive operational performance goals and objectives relating to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
- Strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; Obsess over team learning and development, both from a technical/functional and soft skills (critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and adaptability) development perspective including mentoring and training.
- Hiring, managing, and developing the operations management team including data center managers and data center operations technicians.
- Planning and executing the Infrastructure Operations component of new AWS data center build-outs, new colocation build-outs, AWS data center expansions, and colocation expansions, including the network and server rack infrastructure to facilitate the daily operations.
- Continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.

5+ years of management experience
- 5+ years of operations management experience
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma
- 4+ years of professional work experience, or experience in technical work related to computer systems and technology components
- 3+ years of managing managers experience
- Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, or experience managing teams in these fields
3+ years of work in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans experience
- 7+ years of team management experience
- 10+ years of design, construction or program management in mission critical facilities experience
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement principles & techniques
