Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced IBM BPM Platform Engineer / Administrator to support and optimize enterprise-scale IBM BPM and IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW) environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in platform administration, deployments, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and ensuring high availability of mission-critical business process applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain IBM BPM / IBM BAW environments.
- Manage platform components across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
- Support application deployments, process app migrations, and release management activities.
- Design and maintain highly available, scalable BPM platform environments.
- Configure and manage WebSphere Application Server (WAS), clusters, nodes, profiles, and JVM settings.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot platform, middleware, and application-related issues.
- Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and environment optimization.
- Provide L2/L3 production support and conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues.
- Support integrations with enterprise applications, databases, web services, and messaging platforms.
- Implement platform security, access controls, backup, disaster recovery, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, DevOps, and business teams to support enterprise BPM initiatives.
- Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM BPM and/or IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW).
- Extensive experience in installation, configuration, deployment, administration, and support of IBM BPM environments.
- Strong expertise with WebSphere Application Server (WAS) administration and configuration.
- Experience managing clusters, nodes, profiles, JVM tuning, and performance optimization.
- Proven experience supporting application deployments and environment promotion activities.
- Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.
- Experience working in Linux/Unix and/or Windows server environments.
- Knowledge of Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, or similar database platforms.
- Experience with monitoring tools, log analysis, and root cause analysis.
- Understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and resiliency concepts.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, UrbanCode Deploy, or similar automation tools.
- Familiarity with cloud, containerized, or hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, messaging systems, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Knowledge of LDAP, SSO, SSL certificates, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
- Experience working within enterprise change management and release management processes.
Required Experience
- 8+ years of IBM BPM / IBM BAW Platform Administration and Engineering experience.
- Strong enterprise production support and deployment management background.
